MEET LEAH

I’m interested in the truth you almost told.

Before you softened it.
Before you laughed it off.
Before you decided keeping the peace mattered more.

I’m a writer, podcaster, and coach exploring what becomes possible when we take our own experience seriously.

SELF-HONESTY

You can understand why you made a choice and still admit it’s costing you. That admission gives you somewhere to begin.

DISCERNMENT

An inherited rule deserves examination. Who does it serve? What does it cost? Do you still choose it?

SOVEREIGNTY

Your choices belong to you. So does the responsibility to make them with care—for yourself and the people they touch.

I know how to look fine while disappearing.

I’m Leah—a writer, podcaster, and coach, and the person behind Sovereign Serpent.

I know how to be capable, useful, and convincing. How to explain away a longing. How to keep functioning when something inside is asking for your attention.

I also know the uncomfortable moment when your own explanations stop satisfying you.

Writing gave me somewhere to finish the sentences I kept swallowing. Myth gave me a way to approach what I could barely name.

That experience shapes my work: essays, spoken reflections, and guided journaling for people willing to examine their lives with curiosity and precision.

We explore the roles we’ve inherited, the bargains we keep making, and the choices that remain ours.

You can bring a complicated story here. I have no interest in making you a simpler person.

MY STORY

I learned to read the room before I learned to hear myself.

I was called “The Perfect Child.”

I learned to be helpful. To anticipate what others needed. To keep my distress from becoming a disturbance.

Those skills followed me into adulthood. I became capable, independent, and very good at continuing.

For years, I worked as a makeup artist and esthetician. I loved the creativity of helping people see themselves differently. I also understood how much a beautiful surface could conceal.

There came a point when the distance between what I could carry and what I actually wanted became impossible to ignore.

I found somewhere to listen in a park near my home. Among trees, beside the water, I could let a feeling exist without immediately explaining it away.

Writing gave that honesty a place to go. Myth gave me images for experiences I couldn’t yet name.

That is where this work took root.

Today, through Sovereign Serpent, my essays, podcast, and Letters from the Underworld, I invite people into the questions that changed my relationship with myself.

What do I know? What am I afraid to admit? What can I choose now?

I keep asking them, too.

What part of your story needs your attention?

The role you’ve outgrown.
The desire you keep explaining away.
The question that follows you into the quiet.

These are places to begin.

Through essays, spoken reflections, and guided journaling, I invite you to explore what’s true—and what you might choose when you take it seriously.
